Autotropic Acid (CAT)

  • Product Details

Product Introduction:

The selection of construction fluids and the uniform distribution of fluids in the target reservoir are crucial in limestone acidification. CAT is a self diverting acid technology designed specifically for the acidification and acid fracturing of carbonate rocks based on viscoelastic surfactants. CAT liquid technology uses a unique chemical mechanism to optimize the formation of acid etched pores and the efficiency of acidizing fluids in carbonate reservoirs. The integrated liquid design simplifies the construction process and reduces construction risks. CAT technology does not contain polymer components, thus avoiding the damage of liquids to the formation and improving the backflow performance of liquids.

Advantages:

Simple and easy on-site operation

Carbonate rocks have good yield increasing effects; A surfactant based turning agent that causes no damage to the formation

Suitable for various carbonate rock formations

Basic performance and usage conditions:

CAT technology was successfully commercialized in 2013 and has been applied in multiple oil and gas fields worldwide. Through practice, it has been proven that this technology is effective in treating carbonate reservoirs under the following conditions:

Temperature: Static temperature 60-350 ℉ (15-17 ℃)

Reservoir: Carbonate rock with changes in rock physical properties

Construction fluids: hydrochloric acid, organic acids, self diverting fluids

Liquid preparation water: freshwater, saltwater, seawater

The typical rheological properties of CAT liquid system are shown in the following figure.
